About this book :-
Handbook of Mathematics (6th Edition) written by
I.N. Bronshtein, K.A. Semendyayev, Gerhard Musiol, Heiner Mühlig .
The Handbook of Mathematics by the mathematician I N Bronshtein and the engineer K A Semendyayev was designed for engineers and students of technical universities. It appeared for the first time in Russian and was widely distributed both as a reference book and as a text book for colleges and universities. It was later translated into German and the many editions have made it a permanent fixture in German speaking countries where generations of engineers natural scientists and others in technical training or already working with applications of mathematics have used it.
This guide book to mathematics contains in handbook form the fundamental working knowledge of mathematics which is needed as an everyday guide for working scientists and engineers, as well as for students. Easy to understand, and convenient to use, this guide book gives concisely the information necessary to evaluate most problems which occur in concrete applications. In the newer editions emphasis was laid on those fields of mathematics that became more important for the formulation and modeling of technical and natural processes, namely Numerical Mathematics, Probability Theory and Statistics, as well as Information Processing. Besides many enhancements and new paragraphs, new sections on Geometric and Coordinate Transformations, Quaternions and Applications, and Lie Groups and Lie Algebras were added for the sixth edition.

About Author :-
The two Russian authors
Bronshtein and
Semendyayev originally wrote the book in 1939/1940. Hot lead typesetting had already started when the Siege of Leningrad prohibited further development and the print matrices were relocated.[3] After the war, they were considered lost, but could be found again years later, so that the first edition of ?????????? ?? ?????????? ??? ????????? ? ???????? ?????? could finally be published in 1945.[3][2]
The expanded German translation Taschenbuch der Mathematik (literally: "Pocketbook of mathematics") by Viktor Ziegler[3][2][nb 3] was first published in 1958 by B. G. Teubner in Leipzig.[3][2]
Based on the German translation, an English translation became available as well under the title A Guide-Book to Mathematics in 1964, first by Pergamon Press and The Macmillan Company, later by Springer Verlag and Verlag Harri Deutsch.
