The purpose of this book is essentially to provide a sound second year course in Mathematics appropriate to sutdies leading to BSc Engineering Degrees and other qualifications of comparable level. The emphasis thoughout is on techniques and applications supported by sufficient formal proof to warrant the methods being employeed.
Each of the course programmes guides the student through the development of a particular topic, with numerous worked examples to demostrate the techniques and with increased repsonsiblity passing to the student as mastery is achieved. Revision exercises are also provided.
