Calculus with Analytical Geometry (6E) written by Denny Gulick, Robert Ellis .
Like its predecessors, Calculus contains all the topics that normally constitute a course in calculus of one and several variables. It is suitable for sequences taught in three semesters or in four or five quarters. In the three-semester case, the first semester would usually include the introductory chapter (Chapter 1), the three chapters on limits and derivatives (Chapters 2 to 4), and the initial chapter on integrals (Chapter 5). The second semester would then include the rest of the discussion of integration (Chapters 6 to 8) and some combination of the chapters on sequences and series (Chapter 9), polar coordinates and conic sections (Chapter 10), and the introduction to vectors and vector-valued functions (Chapters 11 and 12). The third semester would include the remainder of those chapters, along with the material on calculus of several variables (Chapters 13 and 14) and Chapter 15, which contains the theorems of Green and Stokes as well as the Divergence Theorem.

The author Denny Gulick was born Sidney Lewis Gulick III, is a professor of mathematics at University of Maryland, College Park.
Gulick obtained his PhD from Yale University, with his main interest of operator theory. He has written several textbooks, including Encounters with Chaos (1992) and six editions of Calculus with Analytic Geometry, with Robert Ellis. His grandfather Sidney Lewis Gulick (1860–1945) was missionary to Japan, and great-great-grandfather Peter Johnson Gulick (1796–1877) missionary to the Kingdom of Hawaii.
The author Robert Mortimer Ellis was born in 1926. He was an American mathematician. He was specializing in topological dynamics.
Ellis grew up in Philadelphia, served briefly in the U.S. Army. Then he studied at the University of Pennsylvania and he completed his Ph.D. in 1953. He was a postdoc at the University of Chicago from 1953 to 1955. He was at Pennsylvania State University from 1955 to 1957 an assistant professor and from 1957 to 1963 an associate professor and at Wesleyan University from 1963 to 1967 a full professor. At the University of Minnesota he was a full professor from 1967 to 1995, when he retired as professor emeritus.
He developed an algebraic approach to topological dynamics, leading to a strengthening with an alternate proof of the Furstenberg structure theorem. He was the author or coauthor of about 40 research publications. In the year of his retirement, a conference was held in his honor at the University of Minnesota on April 5 and 6 1995; the conference proceedings were published in 1998 by the American Mathematical Society (AMS). He was elected a Fellow of the AMS in 2012.
