About this book :-
Physics For Computer Science Students With Emphasis On Atomic And Semiconductor Physics Narciso Garcia, Arthur Damask, Steven Schwarz .
Although human beings have observed Nature from their first existence, it was not until the time of Galileo (1564-1642) that these observations began to be expressed in modern mathematical terms. Subsequent studies, measurements and critical evaluations developed what we now call the first Principles of physics, which have truly stood the test of time. the first six chapters of this book discuss these principles and show how they are used in their simplest form. Other areas of physics must satisfy these frist principals. Chaper (7-16) illustrate the use of these principles in rotational motion, the behaviour of gases and electric and magnetic phenommena.
The book constitue what is usually known as classical physics. In the remaining chapters, we introduce a different way of describing the behaviour of small physical particles. For example although we may continue have shown that its behavior can also be described as a wave instead of a particle.
The mathematics of waves, instead of that of particles must be used to explain the electron's behaviour in certain situations, whereas the mathematics of particles still applies in other situations. This revolution in throught, begun in the early part of this century, has led to the method or science of wave mechanics, which is more generally called quantum mechanics.

About Author :-
The author James S. Walker obtained his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Washington in 1978. He subsequently served as a post-doc at the University of Pennsylvania, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of California at San Diego before joining the physics faculty at Washington State University in 1983. Professor Walker’s research interests include statistical mechanics, critical phenomena, and chaos. His many publications on the application of renormalization group theory to systems ranging from absorbed monolayers to binary-fluid mixtures have appeared in Physical Review, Physical Review Letters, Physica, and a host of other publications. He has also participated in observations on the summit of Mauna Kea, looking for evidence of extra-solar planets.
Jim Walker likes to work with students at all levels, from judging elementary school science fairs to writing research papers with graduate students, and has taught introductory physics for many years. Through his enjoyment of this course and his empathy for students, Jim has earned a reputation as an innovative, enthusiastic, and effective teacher. Jim’s educational publications include “Reappearing Phases” (Scientific American, May 1987) as well as articles in the American Journal of Physics and The Physics Teacher. In recognition of his contributions to the teaching of physics at Washington State University, Jim was named the Boeing Distinguished Professor of Science and Mathematics Education for 2001–2003.
