About Author :-
The author Saturnino L. Salas is Ph.D. in math from Yale in 1959, and taught math at Yale, Wesleyan, and the University of Connecticut until retiring from academia to write textbooks. His text, Calculus: One and Several Variables, written with Einar Hille, went into 10 editions.
Saturnino L. Salas served for many years as a director of Gevaert Photoproducten, a firm founded by his maternal grandfather. He and Judith, who predeceased him, lived in Haddam, Conn.
The author Einar Hille is Ph.D. in math from Yale in 1959, and taught math at Yale, Wesleyan, and the University of Connecticut until retiring from academia to write textbooks. His text, Calculus: One and Several Variables, written with Einar Hille, went into 10 editions.
Einar Hille was an American mathematics professor and scholar. Hille authored or coauthored twelve mathematical books and a number of mathematical papers. He taught at Harvard University, Princeton University, Stanford University and the University of Chicago. In 1933, he became an endowed professor on mathematics in the Graduate School of Yale University. Hille's work was on integral equations, differential equations, special functions, Dirichlet series and Fourier series. Later in his career he worked on functional analysis. Hille was a member of the London Mathematical Society and the Circolo Matematico di Palermo and president of the American Mathematical Society (1937–38) and was the Society's Colloquium lecturer in 1944. He was also awarded by Sweden with the Order of the Polar Star.
Garret J. Etgen is also the writter of this book.
